The province of Ontario considers communication a human right. While this used to apply only to face-to-face (speaking) communication, in an increasingly digital world, writing has since been recognized as just as important.
Accessing Funded Writing and Communication Aids
Rowan is an authorizer under the Assistive Devices Program. They can help clients access simple writing and communication aids with funding by the Ontario government.

Our
Process
Our process for communication/writing aid prescription usually involves a comprehensive needs assessment, trials of the equipment, and some training ahead of submitting the application. If you require a more complex communication aid, Rowan can refer you to a clinic that is certified by the Ontario government to prescribe highly complex devices.
